New DNR Secretary ‘Terrible’?

In Environmentalism, Politics, Scott Walker, WI DNR on November 8, 2010 at 5:00 AM

Scott Walker will have the ability to name a new Secretary of Natural Resources upon his swearing in on January 3, 2011.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) under gov. Jim Doyle has been a haven for eco-nuts that have no clue about how their “enlightened” rules impact the environment in WI.   More importantly these Madison egg heads have no idea how they are impacting the enjoyment of the outdoors and nature by the people of Wisconsin, especially hunters.

Governor Walker has promised to bring common sense and business friendly policies to the state of Wisconsin, and one of Wisconsin’s most important industries is tourism, most closely associated with the deer hunt.

I have a suggestion to Governor-elect Walker for new leadership in the WI DNR that I think will both shock and excite the people of WI.

The man I have in mind is currently one of the most outspoken and recognizable public advocates for all types of hunting.  His experience in this industry is nearly unmatched, and he currently owns a large ranch used for high fence hunting of big game, meaning he has real world experience in managing herd sizes.

Furthermore, this man has used his passion for hunting to reach out to inner city youth and their families to teach personal responsibility, appreciation for nature, and respect for the world around them.  He has impacted hundreds of families with his efforts, all done free of charge.

This man was also named the Michigan Conservationist of the Year in 1999.  The state of Michigan recognized this man’s dedication to protecting the environment while encouraging the public to make responsible use of the gifts of God in nature.

Above all these things, this man has decades of experience in reaching the public with his message, and his name is known world wide.  He has the ability to promote the recreational opportunities in Wisconsin at a level that may be unmatched.

In my mind, there is only one clear choice for the new Wisconsin Secretary of Natural Resources.

Ted Nugent.

I think Fred Bear would agree.

If teenaged thrill seekers really want to get a thrill; let them go into the northwest and tangle with a grizzly bear, a polar bear, or a brown bear; They’ll get that thrill, and it will cleanse their souls.
