To Run, or Not to Run? That is the Question.

Will Sarah Palin run for President in 2012?

It seems not a single day goes by without the media asking that question and Ms. Palin has done little to offer a hint at an answer.  This seems to drive the media to the brink of hysteria, and at the same time frustrate the public.

I’m not sure most people can relate to the gravity of that decision.  It is truly life altering, and requires a commitment of time, money and energy beyond most people’s ability to comprehend.

Personally, I have a better sense of what the Sarah Palins of the world must consider.  I have wrestled with the same decision (on an infinitely smaller scale) over the last year myself.

I have been considering running for the US Congress.  (Why are you laughing???  I am completely serious.)

Taking on the entrenched American Nobility comprised of Lords and Ladies in Washington DC and their massive courts is no small undertaking.  I am almost certain to be routed in an election.  I may end up with fewer votes than Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck, but that I cannot allow that to be the only reason not to try.

Arrogance as Intelligence

In Al Franken, Barack Obama, Campaign Ads, Gwen Moore, Politics, Ron Johnson on October 15, 2010 at 5:00 AM

Joe Klein of Time magazine wrote a piece on October 14 entitled Ignorance as Authenticity.  In it, he describes his total frustration with “Tea Party know-nothings”.

Reading his temper tantrum masking as deep intellectualism is a perfect microcosm of the current political climate.

The rise of the tea party movement has forced Progressives of all party stripes to reveal their true nature, thereby exposing the beliefs the Progressive movement has spent the last 100 or so years trying so hard to mask. Read Entire Post

Democrats’ Midterm Message – Voters Are Just Too Stupid

In Barack Obama, Campaign Ads, Crazy Liberals, Harry Reid, Health Care Reform, Humor, Nancy Pelosi, Politics, Sarah Palin on October 13, 2010 at 4:24 PM

The New York Times ran an editorial today lamenting the likely fate of poor Russ Feingold at the hands of voters in the 2010 Senate race.  The Times’ underlying message:  Wisconsin voters are just too stupid to understand why Russ is such a wonderful Senator, and would only vote for Ron Johnson because they are too dumb to know any better.

As a Wisconsin resident, allow me to tell Russ,  the New York Times, and the rest of the Democrats one simple thing.  The voters are not stupid, but they are beginning to think you guys are. Read Entire Post

Fact Checking PolitiFact – Turning the Tables

In Campaign Ads, Politics on October 4, 2010 at 5:00 AM

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s PolitiFact  made this bold claim in a check on a Ron Johnson ad regarding Health Care Reform on 10/5/2010:

In truth, the health care law creates a market-based system that relies on private health insurance companies.”

Let’s check the validity of this statement, and hold PolitiFact to the same standards they apply to political ads. (Yes, we need to check the very same group that arrogantly makes the claim to be the arbiter of fact and fiction in politics.)

Is the Democrat passed Health Care reform plan a “market based system”, or isn’t it? Read Entire Post
